There are too many categories which makes it confusing. Anyway, what’s the difference between “Featured”, “Specials” and “The Column”. And do you need two labels for an EP election that’s definitely past?
Welcome back Fausto. I was beginning to worry we lost you. Yes, the category business is definitely a problem. I am trying to generalise the sections even more but the problem is that the structure (layout) of the blog depends on the categories in the first place – e.g. what main post is shown, what others are highlighted etc.
Featured is a generic category that allows the post tagged as featured to appear as a main article for a few days.
Specials refers to the rubriques in J’accuse such as Non Sequitur (repeating theme posts).
The Column refers to the Indy contributions.
Re EP elections – right again. Will try to obfuscate the category.
The problem with removing redundant categories is that you lose the facility to search through them separately whenever you need to find something fast. I know there is always the general search but I find going through a specific category useful (rarely but truly).
Cheers again for feedback.
And no “guest posts” section? ;)
Added “Guest Post” section under “RUBRIQUES”. Waiting for your contributions to beef it up.
