Reader Danny Attard has made an interesting point in comments to the previous blog post. He highlighted a question that I had posed back on August 7th in the post “When the Rule of Law is a Gambling Act” when I asked the following:
‘So. We have a list of questions for Mr Fenech. How do “lacunas in the law” in March become “evident” certainties in August, enough to justify a police raid?’
No answers have been forthcoming as yet, but the question still holds.

Hey there,
I tracked you down from your original site 4 years ago. You had posted an article about IKEA (Belgium vs Germany vs France). My husband and I are moving to Luxembourg for a 2 year assignment. Apparently Luxembourg apartments do not have closets, washer dryer, and light fixtures, so we’ll be on a mission to equip our apartment. Just curious, are the prices still different between the different IKEAs?
Thanks….
@T : Sounds like a weird deal for an apartment that you are renting. I only do whatever IKEA shopping I need from IKEA Belgium (Arlon) nowadays as it is the most convenient travel and transport wise. I would guess that the German IKEA is still cheaper though – you can do a little comparison on the respective websites. Also French IKEA is apparently a tad bit more helpful when it comes to installing kitchens – though that is a word of mouth asssertion since I never had any first hand experience myself.
Welcome to Luxembourg!
