BBC have a news item about the floating turbines I mentioned in this week’s Indy article. Click here to see the BBC media player presentation – do note how Norwegians speaking English tend to sound like the good old Texas Instrument’s Speak & Spell (emulator here).

I had this idea long time ago: why not an oil plantform but with a wind turbine on top? And probably someone thought about it long before me too….but it was never mentioned in Malta.
I have loads of ideas but am at present unemployed even thought I would like to get into the enviornmental field…..but how possible is it to get thus employed if one have nothing but bright ideas?
I had the idea for example of building about four aircraft carriers and moor them arround Malta and Gozo. Put solar panels and windmills on them instead of aircrafts, connecting them to the mainland electrical grid and voila……..we reach and even exceed our minimum EU alternative energy quota.
I also had the idea of turning a few disused quarries into water reservoirs at least for irrigation if not potable water…..but I don.t think the government acknowleges that desertification will eventually eat away our present-day landscape.
The same aircraft carrier idea can be used to turn salty water into fresh water using nothing but solar/wind energy and pump it to the mainland to be added to our ever dwindling fresh water supply…..
I could go on and on but for now it seems these are dreams worth millions that will just end with the rubbish stream at Maghtab!
I enjoy your Sunday Times page: keep it up!

Gakki, did you start wrinting on the Sunday Times without informing me? puuuuuuuuuuu ghalik
Ehe. They stopped not censoring political articles.
Mario – you don’t need to be employed to carry out those ideas. Look up “entrepreneur” and then go and find some venture capital …
